Message History
Ñ Incoming and outgoing Messages are now stored in a database.
Ñ Unread messages apear bold in the history window.
Ñ All unread messages will blink upon opening ICQ, including messages from previous ICQ sessions.
ICQ E-Mail
Ñ A new built-in E-Mail client was added. Now you can use ICQ to easily send E-mail messages.
ICQ E-Mail Checker
Ñ ICQ can now periodically check check if you have got new mail on your mail server (this version supports only one account at a time on a pop3 mail server). The checker allows you to view the details (sender, size and date) of E-mail messages on the mail server, delete messages from the mail server and view the top 10 lines of each E-mail.

PC/Mac Character Translation
Ñ Character translation allows the ICQ for Mac client to translate messages written in some non-English latin languages, from MS-Windows¬ standards to the Macintosh standards and vice versa. This feature is available in message and split-chat windows.

Ñ An ICQ White-Pages button on your "View/Change My Details" window directs you to the ICQ Web site where you can enter additional information about yourself.

General information about the user interface
ICQ Drag and Drop interface
Ñ Text selections can be dragged from message windows to other applications
Ñ Text can be dropped into message windows.
Ñ Text can be dropped over a user in the Contact List window to open a message to
the user containing the dropped text.
Ñ A user name can be dragged from the Contact List window to the desktop - this creates
an E-Mail shortcut for this user.
Ñ A user name can be dragged from the Contact List window
into the various security-related lists (see above).
ICQ Hot Keys
Ñ Command-F1 : Brings ICQ to the front.
Ñ Command-Escape: Hides/Shows the floater window.
Ñ Command-<n> : where n is a natural positive number will bring the n-th
window list to front. E.g. command-1 will bring the Contact List window to the front.
Ñ Command-Click on Contact List window title : opens a pop-up menu with the folder path
to the ICQ application (similar to the behavior of the Finder windows).
Ñ Option-Click on Contact List window title : Opens a pop-up menu with several options for the
window title.
Ñ Option - Reply in message and E-Mail windows : Inverts ICQ's behavior in regard to closing
messages after reply. i.e. if you enable "close message after reply" in your
preferences, ICQ will not close it when you press the option key.
Ñ Option-Restore Defaults in the preferences window: Restores all the "Don't ask me again"
preferences from the various pop-up windows to their initial (false) state.
